Hike

Go on walks and hikes through impressive natural scenery - all hikes can be done all year round and have their own personal flair in every season:

Seeber circular route
This nearly twelve-kilometer hike takes you from Aggsbach-Markt, the western end of the Wachau wine-growing region, through a loess ravine into extensive forests (oak-hornbeam, spruce-larch, and mixed beech forest). You'll pass meadows, fields, and Christmas tree plantations, passing small villages like Schlaubing, near the Hubhof (a fortified farm dating back to the 12th century), and the hamlet of Seeb, which nestle gently against the slopes of the 960-meter-high Jauerling (the highest peak on the Danube). From there, you'll follow a magnificent ravine to "Bireben" and from there back to Aggsbach-Markt with its parish church of the Assumption of Mary (a late Romanesque pillar basilica dating back to the 13th century) and the market square.
Distance: 11.61 km, Difficulty: easy, Duration: 3 hours

Easy circular route Emmersdorf
This approximately 11.5 km hike takes you from Emmersdorf, with its old town houses (some dating back to the Renaissance) and the late Gothic parish church of St. Nicholas, via the "Red Cross" to the small villages of Hain and St. Georgen. Untouched oak, hornbeam, pine, and spruce forests alternate with meadows and fields and bring you to the hamlet of Pömling and the "Bauer und Wirt Langthaler" inn. The hike continues to the quiet and charming hamlet of Mödelsdorf (bell tower) and back to Emmersdorf. Time and again, you'll be surprised by magnificent views of the world-famous Melk Abbey, the Danube, Schönbühel Castle, and Emmersdorf with its Rothenhof Castle. Via the parish church and the Kolomanistiege, you return to Emmersdorf's market street.
Distance: 11.25 km, Difficulty: easy, Duration: 3 hours

Way of St. James
This Way of St. James (from Vienna to the Mühlviertel) is a 204-kilometer-long, signposted section of the "Austrian Way of St. James in the Nibelungengau region in the southern Waldviertel" network of Ways of St. James. Here, you can walk sections of the Way of St. James or hike all the way to Vienna.

Schlossberg Trail in the Kamptal
Starting from Schönberg, near the "Alte Schmiede," the route leads to the Schonenburg ruins, then climbs the Manhartsberg, some of it steep. Once at the top, walk briefly toward Straßertal. After a few kilometers, turn right toward the Kamptalwarte Zöbing. After that, the route descends quite steeply. You briefly cross the municipal border and enter Zöbing. From here, continue along the left bank of the Kamp River toward Schönberg. In Schönberg-Neustift, return along the river trail.
Distance: 11.95 km, Difficulty: easy, Duration: 3:30 hours
